Installed Greddy kit on an RX8 *pics*
So here are the pictures....
Basically this kit came wiith the wrong fitting for the oil line->turbo so we had to wait till monday to finish it, and it ran great that night. Tuesday we ghetto'd in a boost gauge to see what it was running at, and it hit 8psi (not the 6.5 it was supposed to) then there was a huge cloud of blue smoke. Still ran good, still smoking. Popped off the charge pipe and it was full of oil. The turbo lasted a whole 10 minutes. ---- greddy and their shitty kits. Oh, yeah, the car has like 1900 miles on it
Top engine cover still fits, just didn't get a pic with it in:
Emanage mounted:
Pimp exhaust (loud as ----, we could hear the car from like 3 miles away):
Intercooler fit like ----, it's pressed against the bumper support beam. Fit & looked awesome with the brackets flipped, but the charge pipe wouldn't fit with it like that.
Here's the turbo. It sits so low, it actually has a fitting that replaces the oil drain plug for the turbo oil return line.

research says the emanage tune is somewhere in the 10:1 range. also says the renisis is more resistant to detonation than older engines.
which is good, cause I think I heard some. Sounded like sticking a spring steel strap into the spokes of a bicycle wheel, not sure if it was detonation or not though. IDK rotaries well.

10.1's is a lil rich. lean it out some to the higher 10's.
and well... i dont know how much more durable they are, but you cant ever be too careful.
plus, youd probably need to switch out the injectors. id run full stand alone if i was you.

It's not my car. He can do what he wants. I got my $$, and whenever greddy sends him a turbo I'll get more $$. When he realizes how much that kit sucks then I'll hopefully get even more when he upgrades everything else.

krustin, your little rick ross thing is retarded. But kain is right (i think, niether of us is very familiar with the newer rotaries), high afr's toast rotaries like bread. and you will want to watch your oil levels more closely now (or tell your friend/customer to) just for some preventative maintanance. Or not, cuz if he has to pay to have someone bolt on a turbo kit, he will definetly need someone to swap in his new motor.
