Even tho it came out around the wrong time, and all the ---- people talked about it. i'd have to say it wasn't a bad movie. a little computer generated crashes but didn't look to bad. kinda gives you an underground feel for how it is in the mountains in japan. it follows the cartoon a bit, slightly off on character positioning but not a bad movie... no 2f2f lookin cars, just clean japanese cars doing what they do best. awesome driving, acting is funny, has some comedy in it throughout the movie. you guys are prolly gonna flame a bit for me saying it was a good movie but this is just the beginning of the live version of initial D. i watched it a few times cuz its subtitled so some parts ur busy watching so u miss what they say. So in my opinion, not a bad movie...

I have the entire collection, after downloading one from irc. I was hooked. The movie just doesnt follow the series. I like the cars and the races for what it is, fictional entertainment.

funny cuz what its made off is non-fiction. u think those mountains are fake? have u seen the very very first episode? cartoons are very easy to generate scenes and conflict. the movie followed it pretty close jus the dork kid got an 86 instead of an 85..

So this intial D ---- was a cartoon originally and then they made a show about it?I live in BC and the lower mainland of BC is about %50 asian and these guys are always talking about this Intial D stuff along with everything JDM.I thought it was at least a real guy or something.Dam thats some weak ----.

non-fiction means real... non makebelieve. whats happening is real, the races the style everything. the cartoon was made after the fact then a movie followed to make it more interesting. the mountains are real, the cars are real, the driving is real. there really is a drift king but he's not the kid in the movie. the cartoon and movie are based off real events in real life.

its a REAL LIVE MOVIE. not a cartoon. its made to follow the cartoon series but use real people... we bought the dvd so its in japanese but has english sub titles.
