Useless thread! So you want to improve on HONDA's factory gas mileage? They are pretty smart, good luck. You can always cut out the floor boards and she can Fred Flintstone it!

OK. Let me ask this differentley. Seeing as how the HX gets better gas milage then the CX it would seem to me that there are parts that can be swaped back and forth between the two that when added to the CX would improve gass milage. There are a couple HX's in junkyards near me so if I were to go hit them up what is it that makes the HX get better milage that I could put onto the CX?

I'm not sure.. but a kid I know has a shop called hybrid dynamics, and he helped tune a Civic and it got an average of 60 MPG he said, after all the small tweaks and fixes, mostly ECU. I haven't talked to him since then, but I'd like to see what exactly he did to it.

ive heard of people getting better mpg by doing some minor engine work, like a CAI and somtimes a header, im not really sure if its actually true though

a cai will give it better gasmilage. so would a bigger exhaust and header. but i doubt his mom will go for that.
change everything tune upcv valve, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, rotor, distributor cap, oil filter, 10w-40w oil, spark plug cables, flush out the radiator, new coolant. the best thing for good gas milage is to drive slow, as in slow take offs and cruising at 60mph with 1/4 throttle or less on the highway.

I did heard of people getting 60 mpg with a b18c1 engine, and that is no bullshiet. How they did it its totally a seacret, but I do belive it has to do with a lot of tunning. 98ctr

I've heard of people leaning out the VAC maps to gain fuel mileage, but I don't think that will pass emissions inspections.
