Default importing a crx sir

I was wondering if any of you have any experiance with importing a car from overseas because i checked with my local dmv and their is no problem of having a JDM car if i can make it pass colorado standards. I only have to get the vin verified with the state and then, according to the dmv, be able to drive it on the streets. So, I need help on importing a non complant vehical through customs because I have had no previous experiance with customs and so forth. Once I get the car into colorado there should be no problems.

not worth it, expect to spend a hell of alot at getting it to pass, and importing it you have to prove it passes crash standards, so buy 2 and wreck 1. good luck.

Naw, I dont believe that this is exactly correct for pre-existing chasis models (like a CRX or Integra), I have seen a few imported, though I have no details, I just know that its been done w/o a crash test.

Check in on Honda-tech forum, I have seen this thread and I think someone there knows about this

yeah, thats why it costs so much for skylines to get imported. there is no usdm model like them, so you have buy a few, and wreck them. crx's should be ok, since in 91 air bags werent a US DOT standard. but there is still a lot of other ---- to consider... look herehttp://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/

the frames arn't the same as any other usdm crx.
you will have to wreck a couple...

what you do is import it to canada... as freight not as a real car, you buy a car for a parts car, that will be torn apart yet still has a good non-salvage vin, and you swap the vins... simple.

this is the best way to do it, but still very expensive

the sole reason they dont pass crash tests is because they have no bumper bar under there.. just the support not a big *** bar.. use the bars from USDM CRX's and ur in business.

you would be better off doing a jdm conversion, just get a front clip imported and then the interior, rear suspension, etc. this would be a lot cheaper and a lot less hassle.........
