Drifting is kind of fun to watch and it's always a blast to get in a vehicle and rail it to the ragged edge, but I wouldn't call it a sport. More of a hobby. Reason being, if it were the most efficient and fastest way to race, Formula One teams would be doing it.
cliffs: Drifting = Fun to do and looks cool in movies, yes . Legitimate sport, no.

Formula 1 no longer uses skid control.. if you are real good and start hooking up with sponsors , getting paid to drift then its a sport and a hobby ,

drifting is the figure skating of the motor"sports" world. i does take talent....but anything that requires a judges score....i dont call a sport.
