Default im already making plans for when i get back from japan....my next car

yes, i have already set up another bank account for a deposit only transfer from my paychecks. I figure if I make a car payment to myself while in japan, when i get back, I should have a nice down payment, possibly even almost pay for it in full. plan is to buy a ---- load of parts for her while over there, come home and slap them all on at once

what am I talkin about...

the 2006 evo 9

sexy video of the beast

...Those revisions are a larger turbo
...new spark plugs with longer threads that help cool combustion chamber temperatures
...a new magnesium center cover and a reshaped oil ring that the good doctor says will reduce oil consumption by 10 percent
...MIVEC, or Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and lift Electronic Control, has also been added to the mix. It's Mitsubishi's variable valve timing system, and it has improved the midrange torque of the 4G63 engine. Its 7,000-rpm redline is unchanged

what i wouldnt do to own one of these. if only mitsubishi would fix the weakest part...the clutch. i have read on the evo forums an added 20hp and a dump of the clutch and the clutch is fried. 290whp out of the box...300 would be very easy to achieve, probably with just a new exhaust. this thing would be unreal to drive/own. I would want nothing more.

i love this car.

what more would you want? this is everything I would want in a car...

a car that:
stops on a dime
suspension virgin tight
a nice turbo mated to an engine that can be easily modded
tight gearing
interior ready for go fast driving
AWD with the 60/40 center dif

what would I add/change...of coarse i would get rid of all of that air filter ---- air box and just get a cone filter, I would put a different turbo manifold on it, I would get a clutch that would handle a day at the track and a day of cruising riding town, i would probably add a boost gauge, and an external wastegate with a MBC. I would probably leave it at that.

and jecu, the talk of mitsu going belly up, i would still buy an evo. BTW, the evo X is in the works as well....
mitsu has talked about going belly up since the 1g eclipse.

Jesus, you're already planning what car your going to buy after you get back from Japan? Are we going to have to hear about this for the next 2 years? :P

I couldn't imagine what my insurance would be on a car like that. I pay like $100 a month for liability on a family car.

Good choice......I've read reviews where the evo is a bit better than the sti
