Default I'll never be politically correct

Heres an idea. Lets have a completely pointless organization that doesn't benefit our world in any way...oh wait its called the GLM.

Political Correctness Taking Over World

Global Language Monitor releases list of top politically correct words and phrases of the year. "Deferred success" and "thought shower" feature.

In 2005, some people wanted the word "brainstorming" replaced by "thought shower" so as not to offend people with brain disorders, and they also wanted "deferred success" to replace "failure" so as not to embarrass those who don't succeed.

Both phrases appear on a tongue-in-cheek list released on Thursday of the year's most politically correct words and phrases issued by Global Language Monitor, a nonprofit group that monitors language use.

The phrase that topped this year's list was "misguided criminals," one of several terms the British Broadcasting Corporation used so as not to use the word "terrorist" in describing those who carried out train and bus bombings in London that killed 52 people in July, according to Paul JJ Payack, the head of Global Language Monitor.

He added, "The BBC attempts to strip away all emotion by using what it considers 'neutral' descriptions when describing those who carried out the bombings in the London Tubes."

Second on the list was "Intrinsic Aptitude," a phrase used by Harvard University President Lawrence Summers to explain why women might be underrepresented in engineering and science. The phrase met with "deferred success" and Summers had to fight to keep to his job.

"Thought shower" was third and a French word for riff-raff or scum, "la racaille," was fourth thanks to being used by French Interior Minister Nicholas Sarkozy to describe rioters of Muslim and North African descent in suburbs outside of Paris.

"Out of the mainstream," which Payack said was used to describe the ideology of any political opponent, was fifth and in sixth place was "deferred success" the euphemism for "fail" that Britain's Professional Association of Teachers considered using to bolster students' "self-esteem." The move met with "deferred success."

Seventh on the list was "womyn" for women in order to distance the word from men and eighth was using C.E. (Common Era) for A.D (Latin for "Year of Our Lord") so as to be more neutral in dates.

Ninth on the top 10 list was words and phrases that either de-Christianize the Christian holidays or neuter their genders. For example "God Rest Ye Merry Persons" replaces "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Seasons Greetings" replaces "Merry Christmas."

In 10th place was a move aimed at the heart of Australian culture when security staff were banned from using the word "mate" to address members of parliament. The MPs rebelled and said not being called "mate" was unpatriotic.

haha. i love ---- like this. it cracks me up. the queer here granholm spent i dont know how many millions more of dollars just to add ladies to pamphlets handed out all over michigan. it said gentlemen. but it didnt say ladies and gentlement..

i could think of a ton of other things that money could have been used to do... ------- politically correct homo's

bottom line is. the media controls peoples views and thoughts. through selective reporting. and word manipulation. im getting sick and tired of it. but u cant stop it.. no matter how hard you try.

i did a paper on this my senior year. what those people are doing is such a ------- crock of bs. they're seriously not lettins SO much stuff into published works now. for example, you'll never see snowman in a published book in a public school anymore. they replaced it w/ snowperson as to not offend women. they also won't publish the word snowball, as to not offend people that live in climates that don't see snow. so why don't they ------- get rid of snowperson then who ------- knows. everyone that works for the GLM needs to have a nice glass of draino

In this world, you're either politically correct, or telling the truth. You decide.

Last night on Cspan (yeah, I watch the liberal ---- too) the CEO of the NAACP was talking about his comments regarding changing the name of the NAACP because "colored people" isn't an acceptable saying anymore. But then he commented that "people of color" still seems to be ok, so he wasn't going to make any immediate changes.
Then he said that his college experience wasn't that great because there were 3 other black people at the college. Then he said that diverse college experiences were only truely felt in majority black campuses. He also complained that at his college there was only one black WOMEN that he could have asked out on a date, but most of the white GIRLS that would have agreed to date, didn't because of peer pressure.

Pick out the racist in that interview. ---- being politically correct.

political correctness is just plain stupid. come on, i doubt people of brain disorders are going to think of "brainstorming" as offensive?

my schools mascot for 50+ years was "The Indians". but back when I was a freshmen we had to have it changed to something else.. so now we're the "wildcats" i dunno how that got voted, I don't know a single ------- person who voted for wildcats..

my university, in crackerstansville ohio. is realy diverse i guess. theres tons of indian people there and asians, they are both cool as hell though. indian people are extreamly nice and realy friendly. alittle reserved though, but i would be to in a country im not familar with. I think the NAACP is pretty racist in itself. I mean if i started a group that gave money to white kids for the "advancement of white people" tons of people would be all over it doging it down. but in all honesty theres tons of poor white kids out there who dont get a chance at anything because there parents are huge tweekers and out doing everything but helping there kid out. I wouldent bother doing such a thing though. Its good how it is now, if you sink or if you swim is tottaly dependent on your drive and ability to be a reasonable rational responsable person. hell my friends parents are pretty poor, there realy good people his mom works at a daycare in her church and his dad was in the labor union for 25 years and now hes works on maintince at the university. My friend cant receive financial aid for school because hes a white guy whos parents are not divorced. the goverment automaticly assumes that his parents will have means enough to help him out with school. Since my parents are divorced I get approved for aid. Allot of these people dont want "free and equal" handouts they want "were better than white people now" handouts. its pretty sad.
