I voted B based on

1. after market support
2. reality, I can afford to build a complete B, and I feel a B would give the most return on horse power for limited money invested.

Never worked on or anything with a 2JZ motor, but if it came with the car...yes that'd get my vote.

JP

thats true. and there a vid of them raping a supra

Lol ya think? Look at the cost of the b-series in the past 5 years...you used to be able to pick up a complete b16a longblock for $350, now you can't touch one for under $6-700. :P Prices on every japanese motor have sky-rocketed, thanks to mags like stoopid street promoting the rice world to every young kid who dreamed of owning a jdm car. My idea to swap an ej20-sti motor into my 97 legacy are going down the tubes because of the price tag those motors are fetching these days. :P

I think if I could pick any engine under the sun I would have to pick anything out of the LSx series.

But if I had to pick from JDM engines I suppose I would go with the most expensive so I could sell it and get me an LSx

D SERIES FOR THE MOTHER ------- WIN
Beating someone with a motor that came in almost every honda civic is pricless.

well I did not know the K's were that shitty I base my opinion off the fiew that I see making great power.

Come to ashEVILle, rawr, and I will let you touch an ST205 WRC engine. If you are speshul nice, Mindy might even take you for a ride in it.
I thought all of that crankshaft noise was fixed with on the 205's. do 2jz's not have the same problems? same manufacturer, probably the same alloys.

I voted B series simply because of the price. I know the question was if you could pick any....but that doesn't include the parts. Of those engines a boosted built B series for my daily driving purposes would be best for me.

This all could be changed if someone donated a E86 also

LMAO I wouldn't pick any of them.
They'd all be Toyota's tho... Cept maybe the odd 13b, or 20b installation for funzies.
1gz-fe = 5.0L v-12
3ur-fse = 5.7L v8, direct injection & dual vvtl-i
uz-fe family of v8's for insane hp per dollar.
Or the older 3vz-fe / 5vz-fe v6's.

I'd never pick an i4 to start a project. If you can fit an i4. You can fit a much higher potential, and more powerful v6 into the same space.
