That guy designed the handle, as well as the F16 fighter throttle grip and the Porsche 911 Turbo shift ****. The grip is seriously awesome.

i'll buy japanese steel thanks.
Why were you laughed at? The blades aren't bad, I mean there are finer ones, but not for the money. They're rated at a C-57 or 58 I believe, much higher than Chicago Cutlery (Japan) and Henckels.

I'd say the advantage Shun has over them is that they are forged as opposed to the stamped metal that Cutco uses, but the price for a comparable set of Shun is close to $800 more because of mark up.

This 9 piece is a grand on sale:

We sell our complete Home Maker, with shears and kitchen knives (badass btw), set for like $950.

I don't know, it doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

Yes, Cutco is sold by college kids between terms, but that does cut out retailers and keep price substantially lower. Not to mention that they really do uphold their forever guarantee, I've gone through enough consumer reports to fully stand by that.

For those who use their knives often, but aren't a professional chef, these knives are the best choice I've seen so far, and I've used all the German blades. I also realize that I know people who've had their Cutco for almost 40 years now and will attest to the customer service as well as the knife durability.

I mean I ------- hate sounding like a salesmen, but these do work extremely well. I just used mine to make dinner with, no little gaps for the chicken particles to get stuck in made cleaning them stupid easy.

I really like the knives.

Mmmm...lol. Sorry not a jew. I'm excited though, I got my passport for the first time today. Was not sure what it would say on it since my birth certificate was from russia, my passport from ukraine, and the rest of my documents were labeled USSR. Came out Russian. Interesting government feces...hmm.
Let me know about that knife though.
