you need to eat a big can of "shut the hell up". sure, make comments, make crappy ones... but have something to back it up with. sheet metal and aluminum are worlds apart as far as welding. if you have no experience with something it is pretty lame to be critical of someone else's work. i'm sure anyone could tell you that. perhaps provide some constructive criticism.

u can tell something is ugly by looking at it. some of the welds look good. but in some spots. looks like there could be pin holes in the weld. thus causing a vac. leak. u said u had a vac leak somewhere and i was just saying that maybe your welds have pin holes somewhere. and u had to go all crazy.

hey man, i'm just defending myself. trust me, there are no pin holes in those welds. it'd have to be a pretty big pin hole to make the idle jump a 1000rpm. but seriously, you really do need to back up your statements if you are going to talk smack like that. otherwise you're just a punk kid with his head so far up your own *** when you start to talk only ---- comes out.

Looks pretty good IMO. I too would have to agree that the butterfly possibly isn't making a good seal at idle and allowing more air than necessary to flow by, resulting in a higher idle. How about the idle air screw? Have you tried to lower it adjusting that?

theres a little screw where the butterfly is adjust it so it closes further. that might fix your problem its like uses an allen wrenche to adjust it. theres a 8 mm locking nut. or check your throttle cable. u might have tightened it too much. i really never read your first post. if there was a vac leak your idle would just up and down. that was actually my bad. im not here to start anything. and dont be calling me a punk kid. but im guessing your throttle cable is too tight

i accept your apology. thankyou for your helpful insights but i set the tb up properly before i installed it. the cable wasn't too tight although i could see that as being a cause of high idle. i took it out and put the stock one back on. it seems to be a little sticky when closing- a result of poor fitting. it has a hard time closing all the way unless it is helped a bit with an extra push. i am going to try fitting the butterfly valve a bit better, or perhaps make a new one. i also tried the idle adjustment screw as mentioned by tranceminister but it didn't seem to make a difference when i turned it all the way in.

use the old school vacuum leak test, get a spray bottle fille it with watter and spray down the manifold and if the idle dips there is a leak
