u wanna hear what's rice?
at one point, i put the sprayers at the bottom of my wheel wells, and put soap and water in the resivoir, so i could soap up my tires for a smoke show...
Wow, that sounds like something I'd do to a rental RV.....hehehehe

Next time you have a POS to thrash, try filling your washer reservoir with diesel and running the tube down the throat of your carb. Make ungodly amounts of thick white smoke on demand......

The water spraying on the intercooler actually lowered my buddy's ET by .3 - took him to the 13s!!! He did a couple runs that day, same amount of runs done w/o water as w/water and his best was -.3 off his best time w/out water.

Yeah, I thought it over a while and figured that the compressed air from the turbo could possibly heat up the water instead... Not soo good

However, I have a great link for y'all to see. These guys took a 91 CRX Si, and made a complete custom crx turbo job with an air/water intercooler. It was claimed to cool charge temps down 70% running 7psi ! That's really amazing.

Here:
http://intermix.engr.arizona.edu/~sc...0Design%20.htm

Read it ALL!! I printed it all out and made a booklet.

why am i a hick? shortyz is the one who said it was rice.
i said this:

"my idea is better, get a dsm intercooler, seal it up, except on the sides where normally air would pass through, put some fabric (like a wetsuit type deal) that will let air through but keep water in. then mount it where air will be hitting it, and still keep the tank and water pumps"

It has to do a little bit. Why do you think we sweat? It's a known fact that liquid on a surface with wind chill in play is going to make the metal surface cooler. It might not be a lot, but sometimes .3 secs is all it takes to win the race. Ice water is where it's at, and with the IC as close to an open area with as much air to catch as possible. It should do the trick. Keep your cool!!

hahahah
i dont see how a jet of water like 2mm wide can do anything for an IC 1000x times the size of that jet of water..

mabey if you had like wide spray nozzles or something..

also doesnt the track get pissed off when u have a line of water all way the way down the track?

Well see thats just it we used some misting nozzles and it covered the whole thing (we had 2 on his stock intercooler) and it didn't leave any water on the track because most caught in the intercooler.

use a "mist" of water on the intercooler... not a ------- jet stream, and if track officals see a leak of your car, you are off the track

sorry johnny,

Jeff
