In a evo riding in style ------ please. As for problems... If you ever make any real power.. Youll be wishing you had only the tranny problems... Unless you spend a grip on drivetrain. I have a buddy locally making about 460AWHP and hes breaking ---- left and right. AND PAYING A SHOP TO FIX IT.

Enjoy

Amen, they're actually somewhat rare and I'm not sure what kind of power they'd make, but I'm sure the RWD and extra couple cylinders would stomp anything I could do with other honduhs. It would definitely get some looks too...

CRX's are rotted pieces of junk these days, you won't find one in good shape for $800, plus all the gas miser people are scarfing them up left and right. I saw a bone-stock non-Si selling locally for $4500 and it needed quarters and a head gasket. :P

Check again...they're in the same category as AMS and Buschur's race core fmic's. This isn't your cheap *** chinese junk radiator core that most of you guys run, they start with a Garrett/Honeywell core and go from there. My AIT's are only about 7-10* above atmospheric temps at 25psi, even for extended periods of time at the auto-x and solo tracks. It's 14" tall and 32" from end tank to end tank and 3.5" wide. What was the world's fastest Evo (up until 2 months ago when AMS beat them by a hair) runs a 4" ETS piece. Do your homework next time.

Umm, that's pretty much all you need on an Evo...what do you think a 35r or every other Evo closing in on 500hp is running? Stock motors can take 500 daily, not like your 200-300hp honda limits you're used to. The only "non-bolt-on" things you can do to these motors is pistons and rods and valve/port work (unless you want 2.3 or 2.4 liter strokers).

Beats a cavy or a honda If I wanted all out baller style then I'd probably be driving a bimmer or a mercedes, but who really wants all that wasted luxury? I do like my car to be a little archaic at times and ride like a beast, unlike most baller types.

Seriously, look at this ----------er even:

There's a guy down in Philly running 10's off a stock turbo'd '03 model and water/meth injection on a bone stock internals motor. It can be done, but I'd like my motor to last a long time in stock form. Maybe over the winter I'll build it.

I prefer auto-x type of events, takes alot more driver skill. :1

It sounds like he got a beaten and abused junk pile or he needs to find a better shop. :P It's all about the maintenance on DSM's, if you keep up on it constantly you'll be ok. Yeah, things do break...it's the course of machinery, any machinery DSM or Honda. As for tranny, that's in the works (Sheppard builds a great dogbox and T-case, that's where my next investment is). I don't beat the **** out of my trans just because I know they have issues (the 6-spd one's way more than the 5-spd). Granted I'm not making extreme amounts of power for an Evo by any means, but for doing all my own tuning and work it's not too shabby and still beats 90% of the local street cars where I live. And it's my daily driver that I can still drive in the snow during winter and break 4 tires loose on pavement in the summer.

Best way to go for any DSM trans/T-case IMO. You can't beat Shep for trans work. Shame he doesn't cover Honda tranny's, he'd probably make a killing.

No, the stock evo 10 got 3rd and the guy was a complete douche. He made more than a few nasty comments on how his car should've won first, then we told him to shut the ---- up and stop complaining seeing that his car was still bone-stock and had no business where it was (I also made a little side comment how it must have been the Honda class judges that judged his car...he didn't like that at all lol). My friend Kurt won first place, he's got an '05 Evo 8 with train horns under it but it's super friekin' clean. His engine bay is spotless, you could eat off of it.
