I really can't stand ricers/drifters!

Re: I really can't stand ricers/drifters!
A friend's step-brother calls me ricer, because I drive a stock CRX. He has been through a few cars, his last one a corolla that he put the JDM tyte decals on it, was working on upgrading the differential and couldn't get it to work so sold it. Now has a camo painted 300zx and "drifts" on the weekends. I'm the ricer
I see them daily on the streets, and it saddens me my CRX does not have the power to embarrass them.

Some actually drive their cars at high speed though, not all wings are dysfunctional. Just most.

They just feel like they have to prove something. They have *SOME* car knowledge or wrenching abilities and now they invented the internal combustion engine. The only way to win is to ignore them... they will only make you dumber.
OR link them to HMT so we can have our way with them.

I remember when the UTI preacher would come into my high school auto shop class and make it sound like the greatest thing, and at the time it seemed pretty cool. He tried to get everybody to go there instead of a real college. Shortly after I realized that it's an overpriced crapfest.

The thing I have a hard time doing is not telling them theyr'e full of ---- right off the bat. If you do that then they get pissed off cause they know all and then it's a never ending argument and they just say you're lying. I try to explain how ---- works in simple laymens terms and usually if they have half a brain they'll catch on that I'm not just making ---- up. Then they flood you with so many questions you wish they would've stayed thinking they know it all.
IE I didn't tell this one kid his fmu and stock injectors sucks and the vtec controller he just ordered was twice as expensive as buying a chipped ecu, instead I explained how they fake out signals to the stock ecu, and advance the ignition timing while hugely over pressurizing the stock fuel system. He caught on and didnt' start badmouthing when I showed him crome.
Course another kid saw that and said 'I need something like that for my WRX' so I instantly opened and showed him EcuFlash he started saying his motor was built and would handle 30psi and 10,000rpms he just doesn't feel like changing those things. Those are the kids that need to take a dirt nap not just from cars, but are usually full of ---- in life in general
