just got a new sofa and love seat. i love then cuz htey recline and htey are comfy as hell but they make static electricity like my house is gonna run off of it. ---- is getin on my last nerve. is there any thing i can put in the damn thing to stop the build up of static electricity. someone please help me.

- spray water on it
- ground it
- wrap it in plastic
- wrap yourself in thick plastic
- exchange it for being a hazard to your health

If you did both of those, together (I understand you listed these as being individual actions) but I wonder if two plastics rubbing together would still cause the static? :P

Lowe's sells a static spray for fabric. Its in their cleaning aisle. Comes in a blue and orange can.

its a micro fiber. i think i got it fixed i just rubbed it down with dryer sheets and bought some static guard. i searched and it seems its a common problem. i didnt even think that the fact that it was wrapped in plastic made it so much worse since its still brand new. rite now my couch smells like peaches cuz my dryer sheets smeel like peaches lol. oh well no more static though

Get one of these. Attach the battery terminal to your slong and the others to your hands and feet. Not sure it'll work but sure would be funny to see. With clothes on though cause I don't dig naked dudes.
