Eddie Griffin OK after wrecking Ferrari Enzo at SoCal race track

IRWINDALE, Calif.- Eddie Griffin crashed a rare Ferrari Enzo worth $1.5 million into a concrete barrier Monday, destroying the car but escaping without injuries.
The comedian was practicing for a charity race to promote his upcoming film, "Redline," when he drove too fast around a curve at the Irwindale Speedway and smashed into a divide. Video footage showed the red sports car screeching before it ricocheted off the barrier with heavy damage to its front.
"Undercover Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can't drive," Griffin, referring to one his past films, told reporters after the accident.
The film's publicist, Wendy Zocks, said Griffin was "doing OK."
"He walked away completely unscratched, but probably a little shaken," Zocks said.
The Enzo, valued at around $1.5 million, was owned by the film's executive producer, Daniel Sadek, whose exotic car collection was featured in the movie.
Sadek said the car was beyond repair and that he had "mixed feelings" about the wreck.
"I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash OK, but my dream car got destroyed," Sadek said. "I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, there's people dying everyday. A lot of worse things are happening in the world."
Only 400 Ferrari Enzos were ever produced, all between 2002 and 2004.
The car was the subject of a high-profile court trial last year after a Swedish businessman totaled a red Enzo in a 162 mph crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

Re: i just saw on the news...
there were only 399 actually produced. one more and ferrari has to offer something or other. cant remember exactly why, but they stopped at 399.
lets review. these are the ones i remember
erikson wrecked his ferrari street racing on malibu
ralph lauren's daughter wrecked his while racing tommy hilfigers(sp?) daughter in his new lambo. wrecked both cars...
now undercover nignog wrecked this one.
i believe that there was another one, just cant remember
and to buy an enzo(f-60) from ferrari(private sellers dont count), you have had to own the f-40, and the f-50. there may be one other car

Re: i just saw on the news...
Whoever fed people the bullshit about having to have owned at least 7 other ferrari vehicles is a dumb ***. I believe that you had to own either both (as stated above) the F40 and the F50, or either/or. Of course, money talks when it comes to ferrari, so I am sure someone has gotten around it (see selling factory F1 cars to private owners). The only current ferrari model that has special ownership requirements is the FFX. Oh yeah, and there were only 399 Enzo's available for sale because the factory keeps one of every model they put out. Beautiful car though. Got to go for a little ride in one at Sebring in 2003.
