The US government is basically going to end up determining what you drive. They've regulated the ---- out of cars to the point where it's impossible for them to build what people WANT. That's why diesels arn't very popular around here because no one wants to build them.

Plus union contracts usually forbid the importing of ---- like diesels from places like europe and japan, and it's just too expensive for auto companies to retool here to produce them So they say ---- it.

I blame the gov't thinking it needs to pass laws to force protection of retarded people, and the environment.

If i want to buy a tin can with a power to weight ratio of a crotch rocket I should be able too.
If I want to buy a tank to protect my family I should be able to.

But it's not possible cause the tin can needs a ton of crash tested equipment added to protect retards that expect to be able to survive a crash in the tin can up against a semi.

And I can't buy a tank because and all cars need to evolve into tin cans to save weight enough to fit said crash equipment and still meet EPA regulations.

I buy a tin can. Drive perfectly. Idiot drives tank. Drives like an idiot. Said idiot hits me with a tank and damn near kills me. Who is at fault? Well, even by libertarian standards it's a gray area because said individual's decisions had an impact on your life. It's also a governmental issue because they are supposed to regulate traffic and drivers. So the end result is you end up with laws, restrictions, and bullshit. You can say whatever you want, but if the end the direction of things makes some amount of sense. Until you rid the world of idiocy and failure, there will always be an agency trying to limit idiocy and failure. Sadly enough it normally isn't a darwinistic thing when someone dies in a car accident or on the job accident. It's some innocent SOB.
