uhm dood no way u gotta have siezed up pistons...

how the hell would the brakes work if you had to screw them in??

also u would rip the rubber boot that seals the piston and brake fluid..

I've always used c-clamps and I dont think the clamp was your problem. I'm not familiar with most foreign cars but I have seen some pistons that required them to be turned in but I'm not positive.

Like said above, the piston could just be froze

no...they arent frozen. i have my brakes installed and they are in perfect working order. I dont know if you guys are knowledgable in the integra brake system but it is much different from the civic i believe. The integra has similar brakes to the nsx. All i know is i cranked at my piston w/ a ------- 6" craftsman iron C-clamp and the bitch budged very lil...but i just rotated the piston and it moved enough so i could fit the caliper over the brake pads...i did use the c-clamp on one side...but i also turned the piston as well...here is a picture of what my brakes look like...kinda hard to see b/c the picture breaks everything up into seperate parts...but i def think turning the piston helped.....b/c my brakes are totally operational....

there are some american cars with rear disk you have to screw in. i do believe it is ford. You have to rotate them counter clockwise. but i dont know about tegs since i dont own one

not true, not all honda's are like this, but some are. on my wifes old 99 accord ex, you had to screw the rear pistons in and on my boys vr6 you have to do the same. if there are hatch indentions on the piston, more than likely you have to screw it. i was walking bigwig through this in the chatroom yesterday and he said he couldn't get them to compress with the clamp, then he was like "so just to make sure i'm compressing the right thing, it's a big round thing with a big "x" indented in it" and i was like "doh!, just turn it"

Hey Bigwig, yeah they just screw in to compress the piston. I had the same confusion when I did mine a while back, but I figured it out with a big *** screw driver. Damnit, I got kicked off the chat yesterday when we were discussing your brake setup and it wouldn't let me back on. Sorry about any problems you went through, but hey at least you know how it's done now.
