Default I Got To Thinking..........

I was looking a t picture of a del sol with its hood up and what I saw looked just like the civic engine bay. Would it be possible to put a civic hatch front end on one or the other way around. or are the doors different? Just a thought.

Like a '90 hatch front end on a '93 del sol? What years we talkin here?

Yeah, front clips can all be played with. I need an '88-'98 chevy truck font end (fullsiez-4 light style) to go on my '86.. that would be ****.

like putting a gen3 integra front clip ona early 90's civic hatch. it has been done. your idea is a different version of it. he did the same thinking process your going thru. gee the core support loots the same and the headlights bolt up close. its just a matter of having all the parts on hand at onetime. as you can see here my front is swapping front ends on his escort to a Mazda 323 HB............

yes that is an intercooler.
of course like any front end conversion you will need to have 2 sets of fenders to make it meet up at your doors correctally.

Whats up with your avatar. Anyways, no, I mean switch a 92-95 del sol and 92-95 civic hatch. I think that would look better. I know you can put an eg front end on an ef. I have seen it. it looks cool but I think that it looks to round for the back end. cool though.

Props to the body guys that do that kinda crazyness.

Man, that escort looks nice. I'm the first to pull the rice card, but that just looks good. Nice work for converting a 323 over.. still doesn't make me want to run out and buy a 323/Escort, but good job.

what you see is a mock up the front is in the trunk right now til he can afford a good body guy. seems neither of us can weld. its going to a friends place in Bellingham, WA. to have the full treatment. alot of shaving and then off a shop to get a cage put in.

I was looking a some pictures of the hatch and del sol and yes you would have to cut the fenders. Most everything is different. the hood lined look the same though. But looks are deciving. I think that it oulw be fun to do if I had a del sol or hatch. I will find something else to do.
