The East village and the West Village are always jumpin. 42nd street and Broadway is cool, Macys on 34th st has its annual window displays, Lower East Side is also entertaining. I dont know what you like so its kinda hard for me to steer you to more specific places.

There's some cool stuff in the Village. I've come into the city many Saturday mornings to go to Nevada Smiths for watching EPL soccer. Best thing about Nevada Smiths is the fact you get 16-20oz beers for $5-6. Really solid selection. Probably 20-25 beers on tap. I've never had a skunked beer from them.
After that you can stroll around the Village. You can go get really good French fries from Pommes Frites. Union Square isn't far but it isn't very interesting. You should definitely go to Central Park. Central Park is pretty magnificent if you realize it takes up about 1/4 or more of Manhattan. While you are at the park, the museums are not far away.

BB Kind blues bar is pretty cool. lots of tasty beers including Magic Hat No 9. I would recomend it you might see anyone downstairs playin. When i was there i missed buJu bonton but some hardcore band was supposed to play like the next week. they have all kinds of acts in there.
ESPN in Times square is pretty awesome. make sure you eat from street vendors cause meat on a stick at like 2 am when you wasted is cool.
Oh and im pretty sure you can drink outside as long as its in a bag.

I couldn't imagine NOT finding something to do in NYC. I've never been there, but I imagine you could just take a walk and find a ton of crazy ---- to do.

Re: I am in NYC
When we got here on thursday everything was closed and boring. I was also in a bad mood from driving through the worst state i've ever been to in my life. PA is not like western ohio at all. Once you hit columbus or dayton it's one big metro area. PA was just one huge block of nothingness. The lower east side is just filled with hipster homosexuals. West village is the ---- though, I like it alot. We're staying in Jericho on Long Island. It's pretty cheep and we're just taking the train in. Met some hot ***** from around the area. For some reason this state also lacks the sale of delicious malt liquor in the 40 ounce container, but atleast there's beer at the gas station. lovers
