Get ground loop isolators, they plug inline to your RCA cables to your amp. I had real bad engine whine in my system till I hooked the isolators up, now it's crystal clear, no whine bumpin.

OK, I'm an MECP certified installer, I'm here to help. First question. I assume you are running a 4 channel and a 2 channel, right? Did you run your 4gage down one side of the vehicle and your RCA's down the other side? If so, then , we can do some basic troubleshooting. First step, unplug the RCA's that are sending the signal to the affected channel, if you have an extra RCA cable around, plug this in to the radio and the amp, run it down the middle of the vehicle, this is just to check the other RCA. If the noise is gone then you have a bad RCA cable. Try this and let me know what happens. There are other routes we can go as well.

this is hmt. make your own wires! buck fifty at most per foot of 4ga wire and 2bucks at most for each terminal ring. 99cent soldering iron and 3bucks of solder and youre set. for the wire you can substitute cheaper welding cable but ive never checked those out.

Correct, on some.. let me give u some more details on the setup so you can work some magic.

Power wire is a 4ga running down passenger side. Deck is a single preout (L&R) to one amp. and then a pass-thru to the other amp. One amp is a Pioneer 2ch and one is an eclipse 4ch. The 4ch is only in2ch mode, the rear fill is running off the head unit. The RCA cable from the deck to the 2ch pioneer is running down the centre of the car. Then its passed-thru to the eclipse which has its speaker wires going back up the middle of the car to behind the deck. Then they are spliced into the factory wiring harness for each speaker. The splicing is done correctly. +/- L&R.

I haven't tried swapping out RCA's. Was in the car when I got its.. Its a Monster Cable directional RCA.

hahaha a directional rca cable........when will the bullshit madness stop....audio signal is ac, so there is no true direction to the signal.....

ANYHOW....check the rca that is connecting the pioneer to the eclipse...and, it is possible that one of the amps is the source of the noise, not the wiring. also check the continuity of all your rca cables (use a multimeter and read resistance from one end to other, both on shields and cores) read noise troubleshooting can get pretty complex. oh btw is this equipment new or used?. and a last note, using cables that were existing in a car when you got it is usually a bad idea. if its a nice cable and they just left it for you (that monster cable rca could cost as much as $75 new) chances are its messed up. just from my expierience

you can email me sprocketcrx@yahoo.com for more help

the rca cable that is between the two amps is a high end rca meant for home audio Got DTS so I didnt need the 6ch output from my DVD. Anyways, I know its going to be a pain in the *** to track down. It's almost an intermitant problem though. Sometimes its not as loud. ALso.. it's not the amps. I even switched the pioneer 2ch to run the fronts and the 4ch to run a sub (in 2ch mode) and its still making the noise, but not as loud.

heres a simple question this made my stereo system do the same, are you running your power wire for the amp(s) along with the RCA cables ? if so make em run on opposite sides. that worked for me maybe it will for you hope that helps man.

nope... all sound signal wires run down the centre of the car. all power and remote turn on run down pass side.
