Where you located? My sister wants to sell her GS500F that's only a couple years old and has just under 4k miles. It's kinda in your price range if I remember what she's askin for it.

2 strokes make more power etc but i dont think it would be good for a daily driver. i dont see 2 strokes any bigger then 250cc either.

friend had a 94 250 ninja, i kinda drove it a bit and it felt pretty light and easy to contorl consider i`ve had only ride bicycles before LOL
i`d say go for it if you are starter, that thing is pretty fast off the line but it had a hard time keeping up with my stock civic at 100+ LOL

saying a ninja 250 is fast is like saying a stock geo metro is fast...250s are gutless.....but i'm not surprised it couldn't keep up with your car...they are only a 14 sec bike.

I got a used '97 600 Honda F3 as my first bike... I love it and I've had no street bike background. I used to ride dirt bikes as a kid, but nothing on the street.

The 250 will be okay, but my vote is for a used 600.
