Um, Why? Do you actually have 13K in bills this month? If not, you'd be better served keeping the money in a savings account earning interest. I only keep about 300 over what my monthly bills are, around $3k, in my checking account. With online banking, I can transfer money from saving to checking in about 5 mins, so it works out nicely.

If I put that in a secured savings to eanr interest i would have to commit to having that money for a minumum of 6 months.

My brother and I are planning on openning up a Mexican food joint in a month or so.Thats some of the money that were gonna use to get it going.In total its gonna cost us some where around 40k to get it going.
