All of that is correct. The transfer to the savings for the $1 is something that WE do.. The $25 is something that (at some point in time) you have established, whether it be to get an account for free or to save $$$. So, the $25 is YOUR FAULT if the $$$ isn't there, but the bank isn't stupid enough to make itself mess up

Yes, they make me to get teh savings for free. I'm not going to pay money to have a savings account. That defeats the purpose.

This isn't an ordinary savings account, as you can only Xfer $100 per month into the account, aside from debit card and auto debit transactions. BUT, if you make 50 transactions per month, and Xfer $100 in, in a 12 month time frame, you've saved $1800, plus you've been earning a fairly high interest on those funds for that time. The way I look at it, I just opened my account w/ that service (as it's brand new) and I'm calculating what I will have to spend for Christmas..
You are not really saving anything. The money was always yours from the beginning. You are just moving it around. You earn a higher return on your savings account, but I really can't see this being that great a deal unless you have a few hundred to throw around every month. A poor ---- like me would not have any use for this.

I have Bank of America and use the "Keep the change" program. I usually end up with $30-$50 a month that goes right into my savings. I don't ever carry cash and use my card for pretty much everything. I average about 100-120 swipes a month. It is a pretty easy way to save some cash when you are not even trying to. Cool thing with BoA is they match your total 100% the first year. I am coming up on 1 year in about a month, interested to see how much it works out to be.

I'm just hoping that once I finish my undergrad this semester, I will once again make more money than it costs me to survive. Saving? I've never even heard of the word.
