how to loosen timing belt on d16a6?
could someone please help walk me thru this....now how do i do this, loosen the timing belt.... i will be installing my greddy turbop on sat nite, and i am replacing headgasket with greddy thick head gasket...any help is appreciated...thanx..

there is a tensioner pulley about in between the cam gear and the cam pulley, and all you have to do is loosen the nut that holds the tensioner pulley on enough to pull the belt off, i think its spring loaded. after thats loosened you can just pull the belt off. just make sure the cam gear is lined up before you take it off cause they tend to move around very easily with a loose belt.

bah, dont even loosen the tensionar.. Take the 12mm bolt holding the cam gear on. mark 2 spots on the t-belt, and zip the the belt to the gear, then slide the gear off, (do this at TDC) try not to have any slack in the belt, you should be fine..

eh hum.. ghetto rate.. :P Good luck not having the cam gear turn on you. :P (I'm waiting for someone to say jam a screwdriver in the hole to brace it.)

it cant slip. he zip ties it to the cam gear. there are holes in it where u can throw a ziptie through..
im always scared when im ------- around with a timing belt, the timing seems to always be fucked up after i have my hands on it!!

Ghetto rate? omg JP, you know how many times I have done that? how will it slip? the belt is zip tied to the gear? I have never had a problem doing that once.
Tricks of the trade my friend, you can do it the slow way if you like..
