also, is there a known list of non-compatible games with this stuff??
a ps2 disc is a DVD. if it's a single layer dvd than its 4.7gb MAX if its a double layer dvd than its 8gb.

so either 120/4.7 or 120/8

you can use the reset button, but doing so doesn't always load the hard drive. you just rent games, save them, and play them directly from the hard drive. loading time is drastically reduced, and most games only take up 4 gigs or less. the compatibilty list is found at www.ps2hd.com, the hard drive plugs directly into the network adapter. if that's the interface that you're talking about.

I'd say based on the shitload of games I've downloaded, the average PS2 game is a tad bigger than 2gigs. That's the dvd-based ones, the blue cd-based discs are 300-650megs each. There's only 4 or so dual layered discs that work with HDAdvance, but you need to do a shitload of stuff to get it to work. No offence, but it's most likely over the top of most of the heads here. And I know the question will come up, yes, GT4 works, but only if you put it on your computer with the proper software, apply a complicated patch (extract and rebuild the dvd image), then transfer it from the computer to the ps2 hdd using specail software. www.ps2-scene.org gives loads of info in their forums about it all.

The problem with having 40+ games on the HDD is that when you turn on the ps2, it takes a minute or two to read and list all the games. No you can't use the internet part of games, yes, certain games won't work.

The network adapter was MADE to interface with a normal harddrive, that's how you play Final Fantasy 11 on it, it comes with a Sony PS2 drive. There is a solder-on connector for the new slim ps2 to put a full-speed IDE harddrive connection on it, but atm, you can only use USBAdvance. Thats the program that lets you connect a harddrive to a ps2 with a usb port/encosure.

well i think my roommate has a 160 GB hard drive on his xbox and he has: like 30+ xbox games, 25+ movies, all the family guy episodes, all the NES games ever made, all the Super nintendo games ever made, a good chunk of all the N64 games, the media player and a media center and he still isnt close to filling up his hard drive... It holds alot

My boy has a PS2 with a DMS modchip, it works great, just make copies of the games after you get blockbuster game pass. http://www.dms3.com/
