How do I protect my intercooler?

What is the best way to protect my shiny new pretty intercooler? is going with one of those mesh type grates in my grill the only way? or is there an alternative? what have you guys done?

I bought a section of that rice boy mesh and painted it dark green to match the car so it doesn't stand out. Hey at least i won't have rocks blowing through my intercooler.

Mine seems to be holding up well. Havent had any bent fins on it or anything.

I'd say get the mesh, not too big, not too small... paint it black. That would work. I personally run nothing in front of mine and it hasent taken a rock or anything yet ... lol.. some fins got bent from big bugs and small rocks .. but it can be cleaned and bent back.

I would use mesh from home depot, spray it black and also spray the front of the intercooler black. Very sleeperish and also a good theft deterent. Shiny new fmic just scream, "Steal Me!!!". I'd rather have less bling than no car at all.
