the vtec wire is a (+) power source (isn't it)...so why the need for the relay?

i duno what kinda of light your using..
an led 12v would work fine but if its any kind of power drawing light.. it could drop the voltage on the vtec wire when it turns on..

plus what voltage is the vtec wire 12v? or is like some funky voltage..

VTEC is a 12V+ when on. And if you tap the wire (do not cut it) it will not affect the voltage.

That works But you just need to wrap the wire around the VTEC lead out of the ECU if you don’t have a VAFC.
