After building ok shelves in my ----, I think I know what the ultimate (realistic) garage setup is.
220 outlet for a large air compressor/welder
Shelves along back wall, from floor to ceiling, with integrated work bench built into one side of the "shelf wall".
A sink.
Air and electrical reels hanging from the ceiling.
Epoxy floors.
I think that's all I personally want.

Well.... those are some good ideas, i think a hoist is out of the question because the ceilings are only 10 ft. Im thinking a sink might be in order though, and definately a couple 220 outlets for my welder and when i upgrade my compressor.

tons of lights, power outlets, and run some hard line for the air compressor so you can plug in where ever. built a nice sturdy bench and put a big vice on it. And a funnel with a tube that goes outside makes a great urinal.
