how deep for stitches?
I dropped a jar on my ------- toe and sliced the ****** open pretty good...id take a pic but that would require taking off the mound of regular-sized bandaids that are on it. Anyway, if i can hold this bitch together with a few normal bandaids it should be ok right?

Re: how deep for stitches?
I have used super glue a number of times, burns a lot going on, but is as good as liquid stitches, I have even used it on my head, when I was out camping and stood up into a rather sharp rock.

Re: how deep for stitches?
I was drunk and trying to pry open a bottle with a knife, cut to the bone across the top of the knuckle of my middle finger, lightly nicking the tendon. I really really needed stitches, never got any, kept ------- with the over the counter medicinal liquid skin "superglue" that is sucky - just skip right to the good stuff. The thing took forever to heal because it was on a joint, and the cartiledge around the joint formed a LOT of scar tissue so it was knobby looking for about a year after - fully functional, somewhat stiff and I had maybe 85% normal range of motion.
Probing it now (5 years later) I can barely detect any excess cartiledge although I still have a burly scar, I have full range of mobility, and it doesn't bother me in cold/wet or anything. If I had to go through it again I'd have gone to a cheap clinic (avoid hospital, etc, where the bill is $$$$ for walk in prompt service) and had them pop a couple staples in. I spent a LOT of time ------- around keeping it closed... my cut was a little longer than JESUS' and laid right over the top/inside of my knuckle where movement really fucked with it and kept breaking it open. The biggest thing about a deep cut like that is the possibility of infection, and I was REAL lucky. Keeping the wound clean and held closed is imperative for quick and troublefree healing.
