Default HOW TO CLEAN A TURBO??

what is the best way to clean off residue and corrosion on the housing of the tubine??

clean it with solvent then use a wire wheel to bring the whole turbo to a shine.....but it'll take some time....

use your mom/roommates/sibling's/father's toothbrush and some solvent

I took the compressor housing off (like 6 bolts) and stuck it in a parts washer. did the trick just fine. Also, you could just get a few cans of brake cleaner from the dollar store and blast the ---- out of it. Do it in a container of some sort that would retain the cleaner so you can re-use it. Im sure a tooth brush would help as well. BTW, once you clean it...and it heats up the first few times, the ***** is gonna smoke like hell. dont worry about it.

carb/brake cleaner and a toothbrush. Works magic.

I bet muriatic acid would work well to clean a housing, as someone mentioned above.

soak with simple green + pressure washer (cover up the inlets/outlets obviously)

unbolt the housing, put it in some really warm water with any solvent or soap, keep it soaked and add hot water a few times throughout the day. Works like a charm.
