PSH, I'm pretty darn sure that if you could get 250hp (at the wheels) in a rex around 2000lbs, it would be a high 12's car or better. Jeff's ls/vtec turbo ran 13.3 and it was probably in that HP area.. and they didn't have good traction.

You really cant take a hp number and make a good guesstimate about times...Its all about driving and weight..You can have a 250hp 187tq crx with good driving skills and hit 11's.....

To the question....Id say maybe 230hp with good weight and driving skills could get you mid to low 12's..All depends on a turbo and how good it spools...Or how fast u hit that nos button

I read that article also. it was an article that had a drag 4g and 5g and a auto-x 4g and 5g. The car in question was an Orange 4g 88 DX civic hb. completely stripped interior, even some of the metal inside that was unusable was cut out and it had a b20 VTEC mated to a b16 tranny with slicks. no frickin wonder it ran 12's, 150+tq and 1500lbs!!

traction is also very vital, slicks can greatly improve 60 foot times/1/4 - and a LSD will greatly improve your overall time to a significant degree!

Erick Aguilar of Erick's racing is making about 280 horse and on the verge of 9's, it's all a factor of driving, and suspension/traction tuning.

its all in the driver man... i seen people with like 350+ only hitting high 12's on slicks. i hit 11.8 with 302hp and im sure i could do better just didnt quite get a chance but soon i will get another... i could get mid to low 11's with 300 i bet

its a bone stock bottom end with a ported head. the car doesnt even have stock glass in it. its light as hell, and all about power to weight, not overall power.

I am sure you have all seen this, and you prolly think it is stupid but i think it cool.
http://car.race-cars.net/calculators/et_calculator.html

comparing this calculator to real times it seems to always display to fast of times. i think this calculator assumes you get perfect launch and you have perfect traction. Thi thing said my frinds car would do a little under 13 flat and his does 13.5 so not too far off.

Yeah, my friend ran a 13.7 with 171 hp at the wheels in a 91 hat on street tires. D Series has impressed me many times...
