yeah, right, you don't work on your own car just take it back off and lign it up again, this time, before you even bolt it up, stick the latch in first to make sure it closes, then try again........

i have the exact problem, the problem is that the little bracket inside the latch connected to the cable won`t go back to place(spring too old?). all u have to do is stick a long screw driver to where u see the cable inside the latch, kinda pull the bracket to the Right and it will close.
