Homemade Dyno Graphs/Pressure Plots/02 Logs
Hey guys, now that I have finally got my *** in gear and put the Holset HE351CW on my built LS VTEC, I was able to spend a night tuning my car! Honestly, I think the HP numbers are a little high, however I really wanted to plot boost vs. RPM and 02 vs. RPM so see how good my tune was. Here are some graphs I created. I spent a few hours once I got home to actually go over the data and make some tables. This tune was done on 91 pump gas, 15psi, RC 550's. Im glad this turbo spools so fast! All my friends thought I was crazy bolting this up to my 1.8L. But as you can see it spools damn fast!
I tuned my car with Crome & Freelog - highly recommended!

It's very similar to the program I use for tuning purposes for evo's and wrx's...datalog lab. Basically it takes variables from the car and translates them into hp/tq numbers, which is basically what he did. Datalog lab that I use can be off if vehicle weight is entered wrong and tire size and air pressure is off, but quite a few people have tested it to be semi-accurate to +/- 5% when all the variables are correct. But more importantly it gives the tuner a baseline to work from to determine which parts and tune areas will actually produce power. It may not be accurate, but from a tuner's standpoint it's a lifesaver if you don't have a dyno readily available.

Well I thought it was kinda cool... It's not like I pulled these numbers out of my ***. I based all the calculations off my logs taking into account vehicle mass w/driver. I already said I think these numbers could be high. I just wanted to post what can be done using free software. Some might also find the pressure plot useful as the Holsets are becoming more popular. If you don't, good bye. The idea was to see how the Holset actually spools on a 1.8L Honda.
