I read this and was thinking...
i could have used 4 stock xyz 150hp fuel pumps and plumbed them all into the same feed line to the engine and made the same power, but it would have taken 4x as long and cost about the same as doing it properly with one big bosch.
all my parts were as cheap as pos, and i did it all myself, and it still cost quite a bit. that comes with wanting more than 250hp as a few have said.
second hand intercooler 300nz/200us
gtr 38mm bov x 2 65nz/40us
big lexus throttle 250nz/170us (no supply of v8 throttles in nz boys)
chinese silicone dont remember
steel U bends same as anywhere
bosch pumps, whatever express sold them for (cant get it cheaper)
s/s surge 100nz/65us
holset 250us (near brand new) plus lots of shipping to nz = 750nz = 1/3 a similar garret
chinese vband wastegate 120us
etc. the trouble is, it all adds up...
its hard to make big power on small dollars even diying it.
its definitely about the diy aspect though, whether you spend on raw materials or skimp.
those are my thoughts.

You know, its interesting to see how people that WERE BORN HMT, have evolved and grown. It's what happens...you grow up and move on. There is nothing wrong with it...as long as you dont forget your roots

everyone has progressed but thats what happens, the northeast had a great nucleus of guys and so did the northwest,
