HMT Attacked....

Re:HMT Attacked....
try Sozo Hosting
thats what we use over at mymonte.com and they have us on a server with 2 other "medium" sized sites.
it helped out a lot when we paid them for 2 years worth of service at once.
not once in the last year have we had any problems from them or maxing out our acct.
if you do go with them, tell them that a member at mymonte referred you and you should be able to get some discounts as well.
just figured i would give my .02

Re:HMT Attacked....
you pay the upgraded bandwidth fees and I'll host the site off my server. I run 5 websites off it and none of them are cpu/memory intensive. so basically my box just idles all day. msg on on AIM interested, btw the box is less than a year old and very stable. I replace the server once a year. my router has built-in dos protection, ip spoofing, and such. so attacks should not be a problem. The catch is I want a banner for my EBC when its completed.

Re:HMT Attacked....
how about a hardware firewall? forward ONLY port 80, and block ALL ports other than port 80(http).
hmt dedicated server -----> firewall -----> cable/dsl modem -----> internet.
if you need help figuring this out, pm me and i will be glad to help. i dont log on much these days though, so dont expect an instant response
also, the hardware firewall doesn't need to be an expensive one. you are not operating a corporate network with umpteen billion machines hiding behind the firewall.
