It is true that AWD cars will seem slower on top end, but a lot of times it's because people can't drive them.
Not too long ago, maybe 2 weeks ago, I raced a slightly modded z28 the last style, maybe 93-94. On third already doing 60mph or so. If you know how to drive
you will pull ahead, if not then you should be driving an AWD car.
It will come down to driver skills, but the EVO has a better chance of smoking you than anything else.
