Hi-points are guns made for poor people, or for those that want a 2nd gun to knock around (truck/kit gun). They're only slightly more costly than the Bryco/Jennings/Jiminez/etc pieces of crap, but are supposed to be reliable. There's a lifetime warranty on the life of the gun. Doesnt matter what you do to it, they'll fix/replace it. There's http://www.hipointtalk.com.

Military surplus handguns are running dry, so after they are gone, the only cheap quality guns will be hi-point. If you can afford a more expensive gun and it's upkeep, go for it. But for those that cant, but need some protection, buy a hi-point.

this guys right, dont waste your money if you already have a couple nicer hand guns unless you want it for a gun you dont really care about or to have for friends when you go shooting. i fired easily over 1000 rounds through my 45 hi-point without any problems before i sold mine. and my friend has shot at least 5 times that much without even cleaning his. there just a simple gun without anything special. could never get mine sited all that well. but my buddys 9 mm rifle hi-point is decent. only problem he had was with the fireing pin, but got it replaced (he also bought his used)

kimbers recent quality control has been hit or miss, my buddy has a tlr II and it functions flawlessly though.

I got one and I would buy another. its a 9mm and its a fun toy. I'd grab my shotgun if I really needed a gun. It did break, but they have a life time warranty so it was a free fix.

all the ---- talkers have never shot one. i have a hi-point 9mm i keep in the car. i have a decent bit of rounds through it and i never had a malfunction, ever. and its dead *** accurate. i can easily shoot about 2-3 inch groups at 25yards with the cheapest ammo i can find. its a great gun for what it is, just don't plan on carrying it, its heavy as ----.
