Hi-Point handguns
went to the local gun store today to pick up some brass and a new toy when i started looking at a few of the Hi-Point pistols....wow. i really dont know. i bought a glock .45 and thought it felt like a toy and shot like ---- compared to my Sig p220 .45. i have a few handguns and have shot alot of different guns, but never one of these. it feels like i picked up a toy at toys r us. and there dirt cheap. the guy behind the counter was telling me there nice, blah blah blah. but i really dont know. i almost wanna buy one just to try. i mean, there made in dayton ohio and seem sturdy, i just dont know.
anyone own one, or fire one? just seems like a shittier version of a glock.
also, anyone ever shoot a Beretta CX4 in a .40 , the same shop had one for 500 new with two extra clips!! there go on gunbroker and auctionarms for around 650-750 pending on the seller and condition might go back tomorrow for it

Re: Hi-Point handguns
i held the kel tec and thought if felt sort of weird, just not comfortable to hold.
i figured the hi-point would just be an expensive paper weight just seeing what people had to say other than the guy trying to sell me one

Re: Hi-Point handguns
I heard they are junk, but my only "real" multiple-use experience is with my Springfield XD 45 which I enjoy. When I was looking for a gun they handed me a Glock in the same price range, and yeah it felt like a cheap toy (however they seem to be good guns). This doesn't feel too much better being a polymer gun, but it feels solid compared to the similarly priced Glock.

damn jamel
i dont even like my glock. i dont wanna shoot wad cutters out of it, and it is to inaccurate to waste jacketed rounds on. plus i feel like i am holding the gun from duck hunt.
i scoped a few 1911 Kimber's when i was there, wasnt to impressed by those either. seemed like an cheesy colt for the same price.
