Quit being a lazy *** and do it by hand. Easiest way to do it is get you a bottle of Simple Green, some old long socks, alcohol, and a few hours to kill.

a steam cleaner is so much better though, plus it's pricleess for finding leaks. beside it take for every to get into all the little dam crevesises and ----, plus you can do the block and tranny way better then you could do by hand.

Eh I beg to differ. I clean mine by hand and it comes out better than anything I have used. I don't know about the higher priced models, but the lower priced ones don't work all that well. Not to mention you have to be a lot more careful with steam getting into your electrical parts.

Want to clean your engine and tranny? Pick up some over cleaner. Spray on, wait 10 min, spray off. All the dirt/grease melts away.

I'm not going to be doing it in a running car, I'm pulling the motor and going to be painting the engine bay, so I'm not worried about electrical stuff. I'll have to try oven clean. from my experience trying to clean the bay up a little when I had the motor out before was seriously futile, maybe I'm lazy, but there's hella build up and ---- and it was just ridiculous.
If you've tryed one of the cheaper one and there ----, I might have to invest in the larger one.

That would probably be your best bet. Just rent a good commercial one.

I might just do that, cause I'm reading some pretty bad reviews and both of these cleaners. mostly bad from people trying to clean cars, driveways, gease and grit, as opposed to household ----.

every year i just take my pressure washer and just go to town, i have never had any type of electrical glitch. just do it on a warm day and then go drive around for like 30min after you do it.
