For as much as we know that you know about hondas (not impressive, just the same general bullshit everyone else knows , I.E. me, and I have no interest in owning or building a honda what so ever) why should we put all of this mad jdm faith in you over some engines you haven't owned, and have no personal experience with maintaining or building?
3. Don't assume cody doesn't know his ----, he's pretty solid on most of this and he certainly seems like the type of person to do his research on ---- before he goes out and does it.
because this clown came on here like half the other 16yo's that come up wiht some creative idea while they are flippin burgers.... and have some big ole idea.

We were all there at one point in time...but this guy fit the general bill of "why wont someone do this" ...kinda idea. If he knows what hes doing, why is he asking?

I simply give him some "research before you do it" advise. Hes talking about doing this to a 20b. the price of 20b's arent exactly cheap, and quite frankly arent that impressive unless completly done up. Ive seen a few...

yeah haha...the original poster was talking about a 12a (which for those of you who don't know about weirdass mazdas, was used in the 70s and early 80s in rx7s and other mazdas)...they are real cheap, I would say why not. if it ends up blowing, oh well

I would imagine frank confused me with op maybe?

So you are wrong in the way you wrote that, but right in the way you thought about it.
Yea oil is injected into the engine through the oil metering pump. You can take it out and run 2 stroke oil in the gas. I don't do it because my car is stock, and had never been premixed for the 112,000 miles before i got it

No, im pretty sure the poster said that he wanted to use a 20b reason I said high RPM's is because thats what most people think about when talking rotaries...

If you want to see what I got it's a scarab sprint 18 1994... It came with a 3.0l merc 4cyl. I/O alpha gen2...

I got a 12A from a 82' rx-7... Parts are very cheap!!!! I'm looking at a set of matched stage 3 race rotors with 3mm apex seals. I'm gunna port the ---- out of it and run a TBI set-up from a late 80's camero. I'm just not sure if I can get a mateing plate for my drive.

3.0l merc engine = 631 lbs / 140hp (new)
1.2l mazda 12A rotary = 164 lbs / 108hp (at the wheels 2 weeks ago w/81k miles)

between the weight loss and the extra power I think that little ---- will haul ***!!!! Besides I have a whole year to prepare the project. I'm gunna try to smoke the motor that's in there in the mean time...

whoa there guys.... calm down...

#1) rotaries ARE a 2 stroke!!! check out www.howstuffworks.com and look up rotary engine. you can watch an animation and see just why that is true.

#2) I have a 12a that is going to be my base..I'm looking to put a extra rotor on there... or 2 that will make it something like a 20b, but without the price. Since I have a CNC at my disposal I can make the shaft from scratch.

#3) I was just curious if anyone besides that guy in the video had done it before, because I'm going to. This is my next project after the turbo banshee is finished. The rotary is on the stand ready for stripping. and I looked into parts.... they are ALL OVER EBAY. I can rebiud mine like it is with new rotors and new castings for around $1K. check it out.

#4) I want to stay NA for reliabilty reasons.....for now

#5) a 12a can easily redline at 16k if you biuld it right. ---- the only thing stopping it from doing that stock is the timing retard wieghts on the dizzy (distributor)

.... anything else...

oh yeah... jets SUCK! a stern drive is more than 40% more efficient than a jet drive...and that's a fact.

This would be a ------- cool project if it works. How do you even go about doing something like this? Does something like a driveshaft just hook up to a propeller?

I very much agree!!! the drive has a u-joint just like a drive shaft on a rear whell drive car. Al I really need to do is make up some enigine mounts and find a way to mate the drive to the motor. Just enough to stop any shaft MIS-alignment... that would be very bad.
