i had log in problems. so i couldnt log in after i posted this thread

i already had a oil filter wrench. and it was a tight fit arround it. and i was pulling with all my force. and that ---- wasnt budging. so i gave it one really hard yank. and the entire filter just warped that *** that owned it before me must have bought a generic generic oil filter, ended up having to take out the entire assembly, fucked up a couple hoses too. ended up changing them, they were leaking a little anyways so 2 birds with one stone. i dont think that screw driver trick would have worked. that was one thin *** easy to bend filter. and either way. gripping the filter wasnt my problem. it was just flat out ------- welded in there with rust and ----. i swear that filters been on there for atleast 10 thousand miles. pb blast couldnt even get it off.

just as a general rule of thumb. common ------- courtesy. it wouldnt kill you to dip ur finger in a little oil and run it arround the oil filter gasket. also, u dont need to ------- tighten your filter any more than hand tight. ******. oh well. got the truck for cheap. so im happy. thanks to everyone that replied

oh. and after i got the new one in. i drove to my mechanics today with the old one. stuck the oil cooler on the vise. grabbed one of those big *** plumbers wrench ***** (i call em english keys) lol so i put it on used the tourque to clamp it on the filter tightly. and yeah ended up snapping the TREAD? and the whole filter came out. thats the wierdest ------- ----.

sry about the typos/or if what i say doesnt make sense. im ------- tired right now.

use the oil filter pliers it will destroy the filter but who cares worked in a couple oil change places a couple years ago and out of the hundreds of different cars never had a problem with the pliers they are the best
