HD DVD plug pulled by Toshiba
Press Release
TOKYO--Toshiba Corporation today announced that it has undertaken a thorough review of its overall strategy for HD DVD and has decided it will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders. This decision has been made following recent major changes in the market. Toshiba will continue, however, to provide full product support and after-sales service for all owners of Toshiba HD DVD products.
Well I guess I expected that.

that HD/BLU RAY ---- i think is all a scam anyway. i recently picke dup a 32" lcd flat panel with all the HDMI,components and tons of ---- that hooks up and i plugged my insignia dvd player up with component cables and the picture is awesome. the TV is only 720p which i believe is the next step under 1080p so there is no reason to purchase any kind of hd/blu gay imho.

You also have to remember if you watch Die Hard in HD vs Die Hard 4 in HD, the newest is going to look a lot better than the old one shot with lesser quality equipment. Sometimes HD doesn't mean a lot, other times it makes a HUGE difference. On average, more people are impressed with the size of your TV rather than the picture quality.

wow, ive been on the blu-ray side... although i dont own either BD or HD-DVD hardware yet... now its just more compelling to get a PS3... i bet everyone who spent $200 on a XB360 HD addon, or even the cheap walmart toshiba HD-dvd players are kickin themselves something fierce. good news though, thanks.
