havent been to a machine shop before, what should it cost??

i dont understand how port and polish does nothing for you... if the air flows smoother and faster how does that not help the motor?

It helps somewhat, but porting is more for naturaly asperated engines where you are depending on the engine to pull in all of the air it can on the intake stroke. When you're forcing presureized air into the engine its not realy an issue, since turning up the boost will net you more intake air. Im not saying it wont help at all, it will. but its not like its somthing you would feel either. id say saving up for pistons, rods, and sleaves would be the best bet.
