That's pretty cool Aaron. What's the story behind it, obviosuly, they turned the teg into an electric car, but how did you score the motor.

pretty rare motors. especially when it was the first one to roll off the assembly line!

greg, i was looking for a motor back then because i pulled the one out of my crx to replace the one in my civic at the time. a couple months after not really searching that hard a guy emails me from a club i was in and says he has a phone number for someone with this motor they want to sell. he was stopped by a guy in a parking lot who saw he was driving a riced out car and figured he may know someone who wants a motor. so i called the guy right away.

i go up to buy the motor and the guy had it sitting in his basement for a few years because he had it as a spare motor incase his gs ever gave up the ghost. he picked it up off the society who had the whole car donated to them by honda. originally he went to see if he could get the ac stuff for his gs but it was all gone so he picked up the motor, header, cat and ecu. he decided to sell it because he figured he wasn't going to use it because his car showed no signs of needing a fresh motor. the pic of the electric car was taken by a friend the same year i picked up the motor who i had told the story about and he check the vin on the car and it turned out to be the car my motor came out of. at first i didn't really believe the guy i bought the motor from, but after seeing the car it came out of and realizing the serial number was the first motor built for that year i realized how rare and lucky i was to find it. i've been afraid to open it at all. i took the oil pan off a couple weeks ago and welded in my return bung. other than that and the intake manifold gasket those are the only things i've replaced as far as gaskets. i've adjusted the valves, but that is it. next year i'm going to start collecting parts to build the internals.
