Some of these are scams, but this one appears legit.

Here is an article explaining how and why it's real. If you think about it, it's cheap marketing. If they buy Ipods in bulk they can probably get them for like $30-40 a piece or less. Think about that compared to radio/tv advertising which costs thousands of dollars for a few seconds and it makes sense. My fiancee is the media director for an advertising agency, so I do have a clue what I'm talking about.

its not a scam, the ---- works (like everyone else has said) but the catch is to get everyone else to sign up for it.
