500w spindle, pissy ----. that's rotozip power. and since HF motors are always marked up 3x what they output that'd be about like a dremel.
$3000 you can buy better home machines than that. atleast step up to a romaxx running a big boy router/spindel

Hey dude, let me pick your brain for a second. I race mountain bikes but more and more I'm getting into the prototyping area of it. nothing to fancy right now. Mainly new shock mounts, new swing arms and shock linkages. This is about as advanced of a piece I would ever have to make.
I would probably use a lot more straight lines to make it easier. I was thinking about something like this.

I have a pretty nice drill press, would that work? I'll mainly be milling t-6061 with a little 4130 thrown in here and there ( never more than .125" think). Also the other thing is I'm on a budget since I'm grassroots right now. Thanks bros for the advice.

Re: Harbor Freight your CDM Headquarters
what kind of drill press.
you must understand the biggest reason you dont mill with routers and drill presses is that the bearings can not tolerate side-load. it takes no time to wear the run-out to unacceptable levels for woodworking, let alone fine metalworking.

Yeah I think I'll just stop being a cheapskate and buy a three in one. Got any recommendations on a good brand I can but used? probably wouldn't need to have a large range than 8" in one direction.
