No, they haven't. They legalised a name, "Absinthe (TM)", but Absinthe is still illegal.

Your anti-drug dialogue is tiresome, Sammy. People have imbibed chemical substances since the dawn of time for religious, spiritual, secular, social, and a variety of other benign reasons. It's the person, not the drug, so quit anthropomorphically demonizing inanimate objects.

Oh, yay, almost forgot. Smoking pot is stupid.

It's not an anit-drug campaign. There are enough issues with alcohol and controlled substances already so why bring back Absinthe? And yes, the "real" Absinthe is legal, as in the one containing wormwood and some other natural hallucinagin (sp). I just think it's dumb and will add to an already noticable problem.

Hmmm, thanks. That's like when I said "many of times" instead of "many a times".

I'm not the DEA that creates drug related crime, war on drugs, etc, by enabling the importation and distribution of drugs so it can be the means to it's own ends. That has little to nothing to do with the substances themselves, though.

My understanding was that it is not real Absinthe. It's not a hallucenogen, it's a CNS toxin; might as well suck on a blowfish.

It's okay little buddy. We like you so we put up with your incredibly slow learning curve.

It's been proven time and time again that making drugs illegal does not make people stop being ------- failures. People will always find some vice or excuse to ---- their own life up, regardless on how many rules and restrictions you put on them. Putting more rules and restrictions on them only allows them to ---- their lives up in a bureaucratic sense rather than just physically.

You're correct, but with Absinthe it allows an oppurtunity for people (and higher majority of people) to expierence a mild hallucinagin (sp) that they never would have considered until made readily available by the government.

Then prospecting customers think: "Well, if the US is legalizing it can't be THAT bad for me especially this time of our lives when bans are on everything! I'll give it a try, I've heard Billy got TOTALLY jacked off it....."

One store had 3,200 bottles that went THAT DAY so it's just making it more available is what is the issue I see because it's making it easier to obtain AND the oppurtunity for people that just would have drank regular alcohol to "give it a shot"....

To answer you before, this is why it's dumb^^ and nah I won't be drinking it; however, unfortunately poor descisons often affect others.

LSD, shrooms, pot, crack, cocaine, heroin, benzos, oxyies, meth, nitrous, etc, none of it is legal and I know where to go for all of it. Kinda funny since I don't do anything except work/work/school/kid, don't you think? Or maybe you're just singularly unobservant?

There's a lot more going on in the real world than you are aware of, and ready access of a singular substance through an authorized government-approved retailer is equivalent to a few snowflakes sitting on top of an iceberg.
