You said you're dying for another project, yet with the GTI you said

Plus side:Interior is plush as hell.Allready turbo charged and wouldnt have to put too much effort into it.A stock used one is around $13-$14k
You wouldn't have to put much effort into it? What kinda project is that! I would definately go with the EK.

I spent a little time last night helping a friend begin to tear aparrt a 1.8t motor. It's designed kinda......weird. i.e. the timing belt rotates the intake cam on the front side, then on the back side the intake cam turns the exhaust cam. Very strange.

VW Pros:
as you know the 1.8's will take a ------- beating and can produce some very nice numbers on the stock bottom end.
You can get huge gains from just a chip.
They look nice - a buddy of mine has a GTI with some type of Audi wheels and it's lowered. Sexy ------- beast with minimal effort.

VW Cons:
Motors are weird if you are used to hondas
Exhaust is on the firewall side. dunno why but I just hate that.
Engine bay is pretty cramped.
VW's are for homosexuals.
Aftermarket parts cost more.

GTis are sexy as hell, but I always associate them with little whiny rich ----- whiteboys. I would drive one, Love the looks. Have no clue about performance, but i know they respond very well with a reflash of the ECU or a chip.

It'll be different, there's 20 million hatches out there. But nicely done GTis not many. Most guys leave them stock. It will be different and kinda cool, but you can't leave it stock or you will be as homo as any other VW owner :P

Now with the money you will spend on the GTi you can get a badass crazzy fast hatch. I mean the VW is double the price, so just think about what you can do with 6k on a civic.

I'd say, go drive both and decide after, actually just go drive the GTi, you know how civics feel, so just test the VW out.

I wanted a G35 badly, because of looks. I went to check one out, and the interior really dissapointed me, and it feels too small fo the type of car it is. I test drove a TL and it was just what I wanted, except for the $35000 price. But soon I'll get one.

get the civic. If you want power windows, get them outta a coupe and slap them in there.

If you wanna be jdm, hit me up and I could sell you some SiR style bumpers and a wing

But seriously, if you wanna work on something just get a civic. You could do madd suspension upgrades and make it handle just as well, if not better than the vw.

Those charge pipes ARE NOT all silicone. I know because my *** was under that dirty pig of a car replacing those retarded *** clip coupling things VW decided to use for charge piping. That ---- is stupid and then on the passenger side as it runs by the crank pully it turns into a ------- pancake before it enters a homosexual plastic sidemount intercooler. That motor looks like a son of a mother ------- bitch to work on and if you're like me(and I know you are Raffi :P)you'll be swapping turbos out as often as you change your underwear. Good luck with that ---- because those turbos are hard enough to even see, let alone change.

On the otherhand, that same VW handles like no Honda I've ever rode in. I can't see a Honda taking corners like that.

Everybody has a Honda these days, but VW is so damn expensive and not so easy to mod. Flip a coin.
