I usually put 2.5 quarts in and call it a day, thats what helms recomends

More than likely it's your 3rd/4th gear synchro hub... I have unprofessional experience with rebuilding trannies and this is a problem i see a lot with b-series. People tend to just change the synchros when it pops out like than and find that it still grinds because they didn't replace the hub...

also have to replace 3rd and 4th gear as the engagement teeth get chewed up.......

About $350 in parts.........

damn! I just threw away the last tranny internals that I fucked up they were in great condition too,I only cracked the tranny housing, I tried to sell them no one bought them so I junk them
