grandma's 626 failed emissions.. ideas?
i failed emissions, and had an easy fix. i think my grandma is having the same problem, but can't find my papers to tell.
91 Mazda 626
Automatic 4cyl 2.2L
Passed HC (PPM)
Cruise Limit 160
Cruise Emissions 145
Idle Limit 220
Idle Emissions 199
Failed CO%
Cruise Limit 1.1
Cruise Emissions .51
Idle Limit 1.2
Idle Emissions 5.96
most of the rest of the stuff is N/A, but she clearly failed CO+CO2
Cruise Limit 6
Cruise Emissions 14.31
Idle Limit 6
Idle Emissions 12.98
could it be a bad cat? cars pretty old with like 140k miles, so i highly doubt the cats ever been replaced.

stop by a muffler shop have them test the cat it takes like 5 minutes, or if you have your own digital thermomiter that you point a laser at something and it gives you the temp well then do it yourself.

2.2 love to burn oil and still have good compression, the oil rings gum up bad. This also ***** up the cat. GM "Cleans" poured into the warm cylinders down the plug holes and let sit for 24 hours once sometimes twice then change the oil, then run the bag off it works wonders
